Known as one of the busiest ports in the Caribbean, St. Thomas in the days of yore saw the arrival of ships loaded with merchandize for trade. A walk through busy downtown shows a bustling community of merchants, predominantly in the jewelry business, with a few in electronics, garments and perfumes.
